When I first arrived at the gardens
surrounding the fortress’ inn chapel,
I found it filled with silken merchants
bartering wares to sell back to their towns.
It quickly became clear that a market
that consists only of merchants and not of layfolk
is the kind where illegal trades are made.
This would explain why the remoteness of the fortress made this their Chosen Land.
This was meant to be a holy place.
You could see it in the gilded architecture,
and yet they defiled it with gilded coin.
I prayed my prayer against Anger:
“Father, lead me not into temptation.”
Forget this blasphemy.
I must find the chapel.
