DigiChip Monastery

There are eight railrider lines in eight elemental biome directions. I happen upon a lonely ninth line: north-north-west goes to DigiChip Monastery. Lining the hall of the monastery are huge statues of history’s DigiChip Champions, bathed in sunset that streams through circular skylights. Monks of all ages and body types dot the hall, silently cleaning – never once looking up as I walk by. I don’t want to disturb the atmosphere of ritual.

At the front altar are two even larger statues of a man and woman, side-by-side in cross-legged meditation, somehow simultaneously peaceful and triumphant. Around them a moat of frosted glass flooring, through which I can make out an endless depth of flickering lights. I am incredibly curious, but the sun is now down and I need to find my dorm.

I discovered that Vital / Vitalium has decent FM capabilities. It doesn’t let you create FM networks like you could in FM8, but for straight operator-to-operator FM, it works very well.

This track is more on the experimental side timing-wise, but listening back, I do think it expresses the techno-religious-secret-knowledge atmosphere I was going for.
