In the game of DigiChip, Data is the element of everything digital. A converted planetarium on the rocky Western Beach houses the Data Lab. Its interior dome no longer dotted with stars of night sky. These days, digital beings and structures manifold – entire worlds transform across in holofield curvature.
I slow my way through neon haze, dueling Data students and their polygon cybers. It is not difficult, as much as disorienting. There is no grounded space here. The physics is warped. Colours are different to the colours of outside.
I meet myself, I think, in hologram. They point out all the parts of me that I neglect – all the parts that need some care. Or maybe I point it out to them. It is hard to reconnect memories of the mystic digiscape.
