The volcanic planet of Pyron is webbed with meshes of Magma Refineries. Due to the intense temperatures, these refineries are staffed by an equal mixture of fully autonomous androids and humans with heat-resistant Plate Mods synthesised from volcanic rock.
Long ago the Pyronese discovered that the energy contained in magma can be stored and used as a seemingly infinite fuel source. There are some who fear that this may cause Pyron to run out of heat one day, just as the planet now known as Antarcticus did. However, the Autonomous Council of Pyron are currently three-quarters through a century-long project to build a fusion reactor core at the planets centre to keep it volcanic – ad infinitum.
