I had stayed away from the stereo functions in the Game Boy music up until this point, as the only option is a hard pan either left or right, and I am personally not a big fan of that early-Beatles style (in their defense, this was due to technical limitations more than creative choice).
But, as always, every track is a new experiment, and so we pushed into stereo with this one. The idea is that by utilizing the centre as the core arpeggio, then each ear could house the two distinct melody voices. This allows for an interesting kind of counterpoint that may sound more muddy if both were centred. It also allows for a more distinctive call-and-response.
